The 00 Fly-in By the Numbers published in the Fall 2000 Newsletter At last Junes fly-in at San Martin, Calif., we racked up these figures: Total attendees at the fly-in: 55. Total airmen and airwomen at the fly-in: 37, including active, inactive and retired pilots, student pilots, glider pilots, ultralight pilots, and skydivers. Total deaf pilots who flew their own planes: 5. Total deaf pilots who flew rental aircraft from elsewhere: 2. Total passengers in these seven airplanes: 16. Total deaf pilots who rented aircraft from local airports after traveling to California by commercial airliner: 4. Total additional deaf aviators who took flying lessons at local airports during the fly-in: 4. Total deaf people who made glider flights on Friday (with a professional pilot): 15. Total deaf people who went skydiving on Friday: 5, including one who jumped twice. Total attendees who flew in from outside the United States: 11. Seven were from France, 3 from England, and 1 from Canada. Total local guests at the banquet: 23. Total people attending the Saturday picnic: 69. Total local guests at the picnic: 37. (Some attendees did not come to both banquet and picnic; several stayed only for part of the week.) Kinds of planes flown in and by those who attended:

ERRATA: Last months acknowledgments of contributions to the fly-in booster fund inadvertently omitted Clyde Smith, who gave $50.
